On 10.06.2021, the Lübeck Chamber of Industry and Commerce invited to the forum “Women in Leadership in the North – strong into the future”. Invited by IHK President Schleswig-Holstein Friederike C. Kühn and IBSH President Erk Westermann-Lammers, Claudia Valder was a guest in the panel discussion as a newcomer and successful entrepreneur in the North. They spoke with Dr. Sabine Sütterlin-Waack, Minister of the Interior, Rural Areas, Integration and Equality about leading in times of Corona and how women have successfully led their companies through the crisis and how they took chances out of the pandemic.
It was emphasized that Systema Natura as well as its subsidiary Symaplant have both completely renounced short-time work and instead have gone new ways by using their flexibility and commitment. In addition, the company also supported others and, at the beginning of the first lock down, together with the Kieler Seifen GmbH, supported the local food industry. During the initial lock down phase, when disinfectants were short the company switched productionslines to disinfectants and secured local supply which helped for instance bakeries in northern Germany to keep their business running.
With further co-operation partners like the Burghart Messtechnik GmbH from Holm the smell training “RIECHFIT” was developed, in order to help people after a Corona infection to train their lost sense of smell again.
The guests of the panel discussion agreed that a good network of companies, institutions and politics is very important and so Claudia Valder spoke in favor of expanding the existing platforms for the cooperation of business and politics in northern Germany.
